Last week Nicole and five of her students from Mt Rogers (Ayden Roccisano, Corey Connellan, Jack Murray, Nathan Ashley and Sean Argus-Casey) went on the radio to talk about their recent award from the Fred Hollows Foundation. Have a listen to the interview below.
“Now in its second year, the Fred Hollows Schools Award recognises the positive contributions ACT primary school students are making at school or in the wider community. Over 100 students in Years 3-6 from 16 schools were awarded this week in Canberra in a special ceremony to celebrate the efforts of the kids. The very gorgeous Eloise Crawford has been collecting swimming caps and googles for children in Columbia to give them the opportunity to learn to swim, while a group of boys from Mount Rogers Primary School have formed a choir to delight elderly residents in Canberra nursing homes. The kids joined Alex Sloan on 666 Afternoons to share their stories…we were even treated to a delightfully sweet rendition of “Aeroplane Jelly”.
