To commemorate the significance of 2015 in Australia’s history, the ANU Music Engagement Program presents The Big Gig.
These concerts will showcase songs that reflect the music reflecting times of conflict as well as songs with messages of peace.
There will be 3 concerts taking place on the day:
1. 10:00am-10:45am – Early Childhood Concert
2. 11:15am-12:15pm – Primary Concert
3. 1:00pm-2:00pm – Primary Concert
These concerts will include our enthusiastic community singing group, a regional orchestra, a regional ukulele group and much more.
Schools will have the opportunity to sing presentation items on stage if they would like (but this is not obligatory). These will be designated by our team.
Online resources will be available to assist schools in the lead up to the concert so that your students can join in with the community singing. Music Engagement Progam staff can make school visits to work with you and your students to prepare for the concert.
This year the Music Engagement Program is able to offer one free bus to each school on the proviso that your school also books at least one other bus to come to the concert. This will help reduce the costs for your school and enables more students to attend. If you are from a smaller school but would still like to participate OR you have significant issues with paying for buses etc PLEASE email us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
While the Music Engagement Program does not profit from running these concerts, we do ask for a gold coin donation from each student who attends. This assists us in covering the cost of putting on the concert (e.g. hiring ushers for Health and Safety reasons).
